Take the heat, leave the project to us: Good Heat at ARHC 2026

Good Heat

That's a wrap on our second Australasian Renewable Heat Conference. Two packed days, with a strong focus this year on how to actually make industrial electrification happen, including eTES projects already underway.

Bauke van Gent joined the panel on electrification of high temperature heat to share what we've learned developing Project Arcadia. The headline: these projects take a lot of work, and the work keeps shifting. Good Heat brings the expertise to manage all of it, so industrial energy users can focus on what they do best.

Our message was simple: take the heat, leave the project to us.

A few things we took away from the presentations and conversations:

  • On support and incentives, Australia can learn from schemes already working overseas, with the upcoming EU heat auction one example.
  • Industry should plan the transition early and think beyond like-for-like replacement.
  • Policymakers can reward the biggest results, whichever technology delivers them, without picking winners.
  • Connection costs for flexible load came up often, with broad agreement they don't yet reflect the value this technology brings to the grid.

Thanks to the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP) for a great event, and to everyone who stopped by the booth.
